Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

ree

šŸŒ A fast-track immigration pathway for skilled workers and international graduates!

To attract more skilled workers and graduates to Eastern Canada, the government launched the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). It provides a more direct and less demanding pathway to permanent residency for applicants who wish to settle in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island (PEI), or Nova Scotia.

šŸ’” What is AIP & Who is it for?

AIP is an employer-driven program, meaning applicants must secure a full-time job offer from a designated employer in Atlantic Canada to apply for PR.

āœ… Best suited for:

  • Individuals who wish to work and settle in Eastern Canada

  • International students who want to stay in Atlantic provinces after graduation

  • Applicants who cannot meet the high CRS score requirements under Express Entry

  • Those aiming to immigrate through employment opportunities

Three Application Streams

  • Hold a valid post-graduation work permit (PGWP)

  • Spouses can apply for open work permits; children can study for free

  • Lower language and education requirements compared to Express Entry

  • Graduates stream requires no work experience

šŸ’” FAQ (Q&A)

Q: How is AIP different from Express Entry?

A: AIP does not rely on the CRS points system. Instead, it focuses on valid job offers and settlement intent, making it ideal for applicants with job opportunities but lower CRS scores.

Q: How do I find a designated employer?

A: Each Atlantic province publishes a list of Designated Employers, or you can connect through licensed consultants for job referrals.

Q: Can international students apply?

A: Yes! If you graduated from a designated institution in Atlantic Canada, you may apply under the International Graduate ProgramĀ with no work experience required.
