A Canadian Study Permit allows international students to study at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada, and under certain conditions, to work or extend their studies.
📌 Eligibility Requirements:
✔ Letter of Acceptance (LOA)
Applicants must have an official admission letter from a DLI approved by the Canadian government.
✔ Proof of Funds
Applicants must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover tuition, living expenses, and return transportation.
✔ Clean Criminal Record
A police certificate may be required.
✔ Medical Exam (if applicable)
Students from certain countries may need to undergo a medical examination.
✔ Study Plan
Applicants must provide a study plan outlining their academic goals and future plans.
📌 Rights & Regulations for Study Permit Holders:
🔹 Work While Studying
Most students can work up to 24 hours per week during academic sessions and full-time during scheduled breaks.
🔹 Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
Upon completing an eligible program, students can apply for a PGWP to gain Canadian work experience, which can support immigration pathways.
🔹 Family Accompaniment
Spouses may apply for an Open Work Permit, and children may apply for a study permit.
