A Canadian Study Permit allows international students to study at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada, and under certain conditions, to work or extend their studies.
š Eligibility Requirements:
ā Letter of Acceptance (LOA)Ā
Applicants must have an official admission letter from a DLI approved by the Canadian government.
ā Proof of FundsĀ
Applicants must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover tuition, living expenses, and return transportation.
ā Clean Criminal RecordĀ
A police certificate may be required.
ā Medical Exam (if applicable)Ā
Students from certain countries may need to undergo a medical examination.
ā Study PlanĀ
Applicants must provide a study plan outlining their academic goals and future plans.
š Rights & Regulations for Study Permit Holders:
š¹ Work While Studying
Most students can work up to 24 hours per weekĀ during academic sessions and full-time during scheduled breaks.
š¹ Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)Ā
Upon completing an eligible program, students can apply for a PGWP to gain Canadian work experience, which can support immigration pathways.
š¹ Family AccompanimentĀ
Spouses may apply for an Open Work Permit, and children may apply for a study permit.
